Ghost Rider Roads

Begun originally as a collection of work by/about Ed Little Crow (Lakota, Dakota), this project was compiled/created by antoinette nora claypoole, and chronicles various views into "Indian Country" over the past 2 decades.

Roads includes interviews with Ed Little Crow (produced during his original bio project), Vernon Bellecourt (1931-2007) founder of the American Indian Movement), & a previously unpublished interview with Robert Robideau (1947-2009) acquitted in the murder of two FBI on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (1975) and former Chair of the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee.

It also includes poetry and news articles, correspondences with AIM and detials about John Graham, S. Tutchone, accused of murdering Anna Mae Aquash (1945-1975/6), info about Robideau's cousin Leonard Peltier ....and a current essay by Ben Carnes of AIM Colorado. Also included is a rare 1970's article about the FBI Cointelpro/Pine Ridge shootings by Judy Gumbo and Stew Albert and essays by attorney for Peltier, Barry Bachrach. All woven together with commentaries and news clips by antoinette nora claypoole, recent recipient of Oregon Literary Arts fellowship (Jan. 2006for her current work on Louise Bryant).

In sum, the book chronicles various aspects/perspectives of life Inside Indian Country from "the lens of a woman who landed there accidentally" and.....

is dedicated to Dave Chief, Lakota (1929-2005)

From the book/project....

antoinette: Do you have a Thomas Banyacya (1910-1999) story?

Little Crow: Thomas Banyacya was a Hopi elder who has the Hopi prophecies, and when I met him he had moved to California, he was doing a workshop for his activities at a nuclear workshop , and asked me to talk on the subject to tell his views. In 1942, Banyacya was appointed with three others to take the prophecies to the four corners of the universe, and that has been done.

antoinette: So they told people about the four directions and did they end up at the United Nations?

Little Crow: Yes, Thomas and the others ended up at the United Nations, they went to Switzerland and the Geneva conference, it was the first time that native people got to appear before the United Nations.

antoinette :For you what did his message say?

Little Crow: For me he was a peacekeeper, he told us young people never forget where we come from or who we were.

Even though this linear society keeps us as third class citizens, with first class papers. It is very difficult for people from this western hemisphere that people still live as they always have. As a person who grew up like that, I will never change. Despite policies and our connection to the white world, I will never change how I feel about this society. I have always despised the English language, the way people are treated in this American state, that is why I spent 22 years of my life locked up for just talking , just informing people about the world condition, the world plight.

Society is missing a lot because there is no elders anymore to make predictions, or prophecies to teach people especially young people, children, how to live in this alienation. The education is programmed education, and if you do not have a social order or a structure, a social structure you are nothing. If you don’t have a job or position, then they think you don’t believe in anything. If you don’t belong to a certain group or organization in this acculturation of a society you are nothing.

All of of these old people have told these people this for years and years.

Cause as a rainbow warrior, as my friend Jesse Jackson would say, I have to keep on keeping on. That is what I basically do. I go around the country talking about how this society is, how it treats people.

The only music I’ve herd that Keeps the native mind aware of our current situation in our native soil that is colonized still by European rule from overseas not even white poverty class folks even know it but just in trench themselves in this European racial hierarchal society.
This group Savage Family brings the native to the Truth.. Of the illusion created all around them to incarcerate our minds and life. This is happening right before us in wide open space and many of our people are awake with their eyes closed. This music make you aware of the world around you and this nations endless assault against Native people & has been presented in Savage family very accurate and to the point. Choose not to listen to them then you allow yourself to fall asleep and never wake up till it’s too late. Asked yourself this, what does this nation know about equality? Besides what mainstream media tells you? In order to evaluate this question you need two opions, the truth comes when you realize who haves & who haves nothing in society.{See Movie” American Outrage”}Savage Family speaks for all native people trapped in the web of lies that surrounds us..Be aware that the ability to control our mental processes, attitudes, fears and perceptions of mass America is clearly far more advanced than the average American understands “The Mind Manipulators by Alan W. Scheflin and Edward M.Opton,Jr.” & “Thought Control in the U.S.A edited by Harold J. Salemson” “ Nervous System Manipulation by EM Fields from Monitors Loos, Hendricus”
…be aware that knowledge in song and word is good for the soul ,the spirit & Savage Family Is Illuminating with strength and encouragement for the continuous struggle of a People who are known to be invisible in the eyes of the white man but we are still here and by our own not forgotten. Ed Little Crow I agree that people shouldn’t wait for change but taking action like you did not go in vein especially in this world that has created a racial hierarchal system around us…Your not forgotten…much love to you AIM warrior.. see you soon.
